Cumin is most widely used for indigestion in traditional recipes. Cumin can, in effect, assist normal digestion, according to recent studies. It may, for example, improve the activity of digestive enzymes, possibly accelerating digestion. Cumin also induces bile production in the liver. In the gut, bile assists in the absorption of fats and some nutrients.
