With a vision to revive the dying handicrafts of India, Virasat is an umbrella organisation for handicraft cluster development. Project Virasat's main aim is to provide a tailor-made solution for the specific problems faced by the artisans, creating opportunities not only for the artisans but also for their future generations that can safely carry on the craft legacy. We majorly have 2 craft forms under our ambit, namely Gaurahari Stonework and Usta Art. The stone work artisans of Gaurahari Village in Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba district practice this craft, wherein they make a wide range of handicrafts intricately carved out of a rare, uniquely textured stone called" Gaura Patthar". Usta is a broad term used to represent the combination of many different techniques. In this, 24 carat gold emboss work is performed on walls, ceilings, wood and marble so as to design various utility as well as handicraft products.
