The Slow Studio is an ethically-crafted Indian label, conceptualised at the London College of Fashion as an integral part of a practice-based Master’s thesis, exploring the intersection of slow fashion, its relationship with Indian women and their ever-evolving tastes in jewellery. A celebration of India and her rich jewellery heritage, all our products are made with love in the motherland, paying homage to local crafts and the craftsfolk. We believe in mindful design, production and consumption, owing to which our design language leans towards versatile, timeless yet differentiated interpretations of classics that can be worn in multiple ways, transcending generations and genres alike. As our beautiful brand name suggests, we like to take things ‘Slow’ - We consciously eschew the ‘Faster, cheaper, more’ philosophy of creating for ‘trends’, in favour of a more relaxed, conscious and sustainable way of doing things, with an emphasis on evergreen capsule pieces - reimagined core collections with a ‘twist’. Inspired by Indian women - their unique lives, choices and lifestyles, we see our jewels as mediums of self-expression, individuality and self-love.
